Intro
What does professional video production actually cost in the UK in 2026? Most MOTION3 projects land between £3,000 and £15,000 + VAT, and monthly content partnerships run from £1,500 to £4,000 per month. Very few agencies publish their prices. We do, because guessing wastes everyone’s time. Here are the real numbers we quote, so you can budget properly:
- Brand film: £3,500 to £7,000 + VAT per film
- Event or conference coverage (single day): £5,000 to £8,000 + VAT
- Multi-day conference, full package: £10,000 to £16,000 + VAT
- 3D CGI product film: from £7,000 for the first scene, £4,000 per additional scene
- Animated branding package: from £2,000 + VAT
- AV and PA provision for events: from £1,000 + VAT
- Monthly content partnership: £1,500 to £4,000 + VAT per month
What You’re Actually Paying For
A quote is mostly people and preparation. A typical single-day shoot involves planning and a recce, senior crew on the day, professional camera, lighting and audio kit, then the part everyone underestimates: the edit. A polished three-minute film routinely takes two to three days of editing, grading and sound work. When a quote looks surprisingly cheap, it is almost always the planning or the edit that has been quietly removed. That is where quality goes to die.
Why Event Video Costs What It Does
Conference and event coverage carries no second chances. If a crew misses your keynote, that is a £5,000 mistake nobody can reshoot. Event pricing reflects multi-camera setups, redundant recording, live audio capture from the venue’s system, and crew who have done it enough times to be boring about risk. For multi-day conferences, the full package usually includes a highlights film, individual speaker films and social media cuts, which is why the range is £10,000 to £16,000 rather than a day rate multiplied by days.
One-Off Project or Monthly Partnership?
If you need one film, buy one film. Fixed scope, fixed price, delivered brilliantly. If you need content month after month, a partnership makes each piece dramatically cheaper. Our partnerships run from £1,500 per month for one to two productions a month, up to £4,000 per month for a full content programme with campaigns, films, photography and social cuts. The saving comes from planning: one well-planned filming day can produce a month of content when you know in advance what you need it to do.
What Makes the Price Go Up
Multiple filming locations or dates, larger crews and multi-camera setups, same-day edits for social media, teleprompters, drone work, licensed music, complex animation, and the quiet one: approval chains. Every additional round of feedback beyond the included rounds adds edit time. We include one to two rounds of amendments in every quote and we are upfront when a request will cost more.
How to Get More From Your Budget
The biggest saving in video production is not negotiating the day rate. It is planning repurposing before the shoot. If we know your conference film also needs to feed LinkedIn for a month, we film differently on the day: extra cutaways, speaker soundbites framed for vertical, b-roll with social in mind. The second biggest saving is building an asset library, so your second film costs less than your first: branded titles, lower thirds and templates that carry across every production.
Red Flags When Comparing Quotes
Be wary of quotes with no planning time in them, day rates with no deliverables attached, unclear ownership of the final files, and prices that only make sense if a junior turns up alone with one camera. Ask every agency the same question: who exactly will be on my shoot, and who does the edit? You should always know who is on your job.
