We partnered with the McDonald Centre for Theology, Ethics & Public Life to capture and amplify their landmark Christian Humanism and the Black Atlantic conference. The three-day conference was held at Pusey House and Christ Church College in Oxford, and brought together leading academics and thinkers to explore themes of faith, history, and public life. The challenge was to ensure the conference reached beyond the walls of Oxford by live-streaming the sessions for global audiences, and capture content for a highlights video, and photography throughout the event.
APPROACH
We ran a series of planning calls with the McDonald Centre team to map out the schedule, speaker flow, and technical requirements for each day.
We carried out on-site recce visits at both venues to stress test everything that usually gets taken for granted: internet speeds, signal stability, stream redundancy, audience layouts, camera positions, and the simplest routes for moving gear between sessions without disrupting the event. These checks shaped our final setup, which used a two-camera set-up for live streaming in historic spaces that were never built with modern AV workflows in mind.
Once the conference began, our priority was consistency and clarity. Each session was streamed, recorded for post-event use, and monitored throughout to ensure there were no signal drops. Alongside the streams, we captured additional footage across all three days to craft an engaging highlights video that showcased the tone of the event, the range of speakers, and the atmosphere across both locations.
