Live Streaming Events, Live Events, Hybrid Events…..
What’s the best way forward for your organisation?
There has been a lot of change in the last 18 months when it comes to event video. One of our core services has always been attending conferences and events around the world, capturing dynamic content that really reflects the event atmosphere. As the world changed overnight, so did our offer. We were thrown into the world of offering live streaming of events very quickly and delivered numerous great, high-quality events for our clients.
Move on a few more months and venues started opening up and some events were able to take place again. BUT, what had happened had been a shift from a solely face-to-face event or a solely online event, to a hybrid of the two.
We, and our clients, realised that by streaming the events online, be that interviews, lectures, speakers, or the whole event, they were able to open up their event and drastically expand their audience. By having a live onsite event, that also has elements of online streaming in the mix we were able to support our client’s delivery, a more open and exciting event.
Obviously, there have been logistical challenges, being onsite in the thick of it AND streaming high-quality content simultaneously has made our brains hurt at times! Saying that we’re extremely proud of the quick shift to accommodate our client’s needs and can positively say that we’ve delivered nothing but quality content that met our client’s needs, and budgets.
BUT, what’s right for your event or organisation?
This will depend on a number of factors, but the most important will be:
- What are your objectives for the event?
- What do your stakeholders want to get from the event and video content?
Then there will be a few more factors to consider:
- Is your event open to all, or is it invite-only?
- Does the venue have the ability to allow live streaming?
- Are your speakers happy for their content to be shared more widely?
- Will your content be available online after the event?
Sitting down to work out what you want from your event both while it’s happening and also after the event (don’t forget any promotional footage you might need for the next event) you will start to form a picture of whether a hybrid event, online event or live face-to-face event will be best.
