Every summer, the Ethox Centre at the University of Oxford brings a remarkable group of people to the city: researchers, clinicians and ethicists from more than forty countries, gathered for the Global Health & Bioethics International Conference.
Run with the Oxford-Johns Hopkins GLIDE collaboration, it is a truly global conversation about the ethics of health on the frontline. For 2026 the Centre wanted coverage that did justice to both the scale of the gathering and the quieter, human moments that make it matter – film and photography they could use long after the delegates had flown home.
APPROACH
We covered a full conference day at the University of Oxford’s new Life and Mind Building as a single, mobile crew – light on kit, quick on our feet, able to move between rooms without interrupting the work.
The plan balanced the set-pieces with the in-between: clean coverage of the keynote and panel sessions; candid framing of the breakout rooms and the networking that fills the gaps; and cutaways of the Oxford skyline from the building’s upper terrace.
Alongside the highlight reel we shot event photography for the Centre’s own marketing and funder reporting, and recorded interviews with the four session chairs – footage banked to build future campaigns on.
