Following the success of last year’s hero film for Oxford Certificate Programmes, MOTION3 returned to capture a new version of the summer school experience, this time aimed at high school students from across the globe. The aim remained the same: to showcase the Oxford experience in a way that inspires students to take part, but with a focus on younger learners and the activities tailored for them.
APPROACH
We knew from last year’s project how important it was to plan every detail, ensuring we covered the programme’s full range of academic, cultural, and social experiences. Working closely with the client, we built a comprehensive shot list and filming schedule that aligned with their week-long itinerary.
This year’s programme included new activities alongside the Oxford classics. We filmed immersive excursions to the Ashmolean Museum and Blenheim Palace, hands-on workshops like ice cream making at Oxford’s famous G&D’s, and a variety of extracurricular activities designed to give students a taste of life beyond the classroom.
Across multiple locations, we balanced structured filming with the flexibility to capture spontaneous moments that bring the experience to life. Interviews with students and staff provided authentic voices, while b-roll stitched together a vibrant and engaging narrative. The result was a film that gives prospective students (and their parents) a complete and exciting picture of what it’s like to study in Oxford as part of this unique programme.
