Oxfordshire Careers Hub approached us at MOTION3 to create a compelling documentary-style film. The objective was to showcase the impactful story of Joshua Read-Strahan, an inspiring young individual, and his transformative journey through apprenticeship. The film aimed to be a centrepiece to illustrate the critical role businesses play in shaping the career paths of future generations.

APPROACH

To ensure the success of this project, we initiated a strategic planning phase by collaborating closely with the Oxfordshire Careers Hub team. Understanding their vision and key messages, we formulated a strategy that would effectively convey Joshua’s apprenticeship journey while aligning with the overarching goals of the Careers Hub.

The production phase involved a two-day shoot, capturing master interviews with Joshua, his colleagues at Ignite Sport, and his former teachers to help illustrate his journey of growth. In addition to the interviews, we gathered B-roll footage of Joshua in action, receiving his award at the annual Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards, and gathered existing photography to provide a visually engaging backdrop to his narrative.
