Oxfordshire Careers Hub approached us to produce a powerful film aimed at raising awareness about students and apprentices with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The primary goal was to encourage businesses of all sizes to embrace inclusivity in the workplace and discover the valuable contributions individuals with SEND can make.
APPROACH
Filming took place in a single day, capturing the vibrant and inspiring environment at The Salvation Army, where the students from Bardwell School travel every Tuesday. The students showcase their capabilities in a real café setting. From baking delectable sweets to preparing soups, sandwiches, and more, the students demonstrated their skills, providing a tangible example of what they could bring to the workplace.
To ensure the success of the project, we filmed interviews with key individuals, including managers at The Salvation Army café, the lead at Bardwell School, café visitors, and the students themselves. These interviews captured diverse perspectives, further reinforcing the collaborative efforts and key messages outlined during the strategy/planning stage of the project.
It was an absolute pleasure to work on this inspiring project that raises awareness about the importance of inclusivity in the workplace. The commitment of Oxfordshire Careers Hub and the individuals involved made this project impactful, showcasing the positive change arising from an inclusive and supportive work environment.
