Royal Holloway, University of London, engaged MOTION3 to craft a poignant short film commemorating the departure of Professor Paul Layzell, the esteemed Principal of the institution, culminating his impactful 12-year tenure. The film aimed to allow colleagues to reflect on the collective achievements during his leadership, align with the current strategic plan, and set an optimistic tone for the future, introducing the incoming Principal. This visual narrative was slated for a grand presentation at a farewell dinner and subsequent hosting on the staff website.

APPROACH

Our one-day shoot at Egham Campus was planned during our pre-production phase. Alongside Royal Holloway, we outlined a script and a list of accompanying shots. With a solid storyboard in hand, we approached the filming day with a clear goal. The beautiful sunny day enhanced visual storytelling, emphasising the grand architecture. We captured B-roll footage around the campus to complement the narrative. And in post-production, we seamlessly integrated archival footage and branded graphics to ensure a cohesive brand style.
